ADHD, also known as: attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, is a chronic neurological disorder that is often associated with restlessness, disorganization, trouble focusing and impulsivity.
Although having ADHD may be challenging to deal with at times, that does not mean you’re automatically stuck suffering for life. You just need to learn how to use your brain to your advantage!
This way you won’t become as overwhelmed. Structure is important along with developing better habits in an effort in trying to be more organize.
Write things downUse sticky notes, make to-do lists, keep a daily journal, Whatever makes it easier for you to remember what your priorities are.
Take proper care of yourselfThis means physically as well as mentally. Know your triggers. A balanced diet can help, as some foods/ingredients can cause an unwanted reaction or spike in nervous energy. (like caffeine or excessive amounts of sugar.) Exercising and moving around is important. This is a way to channel your feelings into something beneficial for yourself.
Proper planningIt can be hard to figure out exactly what your priorities are sometimes. It is also inevitable that you may submit to procrastination or any sort of distractions. This ends up in being late to appointments, or completely forgetting what it was you even needed to do. Things like apps with a timer, alarms, alerts, a planner, and a calendar to schedule events in order to not miss anything important.
Ask for help when you need itA good support system is vital in times of need. Sometime you need to lean on someone who you trust, understands you, will listen to you and be there for you when the going gets tough.
